Ciudad del Este, is a city located in extreme eastern Paraguay. It is the capital of the department (state) of Alto Paraná and is located 327 km from the city of Asuncion. It is part of the triple frontier with Brazil and Argentina, separated by the Paraná River and connected by the Friendship Bridge to the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu.
The city is widely known for being one of the world’s largest free economic or free trade zones, making it the most important tourism shopping city in the country and region.

    Nature can be enjoyed at the Itaipú Binational Protected Wildlife Areas, the right bank, Tati Yupí, Limoy, Itabó, Pikyry. These natural reserves hold old-growth Alto Paraná Atlantic Forest flora and fauna.
